Make Money Directly From Your Articles

This is generally an approach that most marketer's don't use. The reason for this is because to make money directly from an article you will need it to be getting a lot of readers.

For it to get a lot of readers you will need it at the top of Google for relevant search terms and this is very rare without doing additional work. So if you start doing SEO work to get your article higher you're optimizing someone else's website.

There's nothing wrong with doing this but most webmaster's prefer to optimize their own sites because as a generalization you will make more money if your own site is at the top of Google for relevant search terms rather than an article which has your link in it.

For this method of article marketing I've found that Go Articles is the best. When last I checked they allowed affiliate links not only in the article resource box but in the article body as well.

The best article directory overall is ezine articles but they don't allow affiliate links and there's no sign of them changing their minds on this anytime soon, they just keep highering their standards (which I'm glad about.)

By including your affiliate links in an article it is possible to make money. I personally have a page at Go Articles which makes around $300 a month and has done for a while now. It may not sound like much but it's work for doing absolutely nothing now that it's done.

Although I should warn you that this was "lucky" and the majority of articles won't do as well without additional work.

Anyway, you basically follow the same steps that I mentioned on article marketing for traffic, first pick your keywords you want the article to rank for in Google and make sure to include these words in the title.

Then write a quality and unique article. You can include an affiliate link in the article if you like. If for example the article was about panic attacks and how to stop them you could have a click able link of "Guide To Stop Panic Attacks" to a relevant product.

Of course that's just an example, I've no idea if there is a stop panic attack guide as I have no knowledge of that particular market, that was just an example.

Then at the end of the article you can then include your affiliate link. It's better to use clean anchor text, especially with an affiliate link, read my page on how to write anchor text if you're unsure as to how to do it or even what it is.

Once your article is approved you then need to check how well it ranks on Google. Typically Go Articles will need additional SEO work to rank well and even then you won't be ranking for competitive terms.

This is why most marketer's stay away from this method.
