Make A Website Very Cheaply

Before I say anything here I want to make it clear that I am by no means an expert on the method I'm about to discuss but that's because I use XSitePro to make my websites.

Despite my limited experience with the following method a still have a very good idea on how it works and can set you in the right direction.

So if you're just starting out and want to spend as little money as possible on making a website of your own then you need to do it using wordpress.

Firstly you will need to buy your domain name and your hosting, read my page on domain name and hosting for information on how to go about doing this.

Once you've bought your domain name and hosting you will then need to login into your cpanel. This will simply be what ever domain name you bought with /cpanel on the end.

For example yourdomain.com/cpanel

Your login detail will be given to you by the hosting company when you sign up.

Once you're in your cpanel you will then need to click on a smiley face which says "fantastico" This will then install wordpress on your site.

From here you will be able to edit your site however you see fit. Wordpress is generally a blogging platform.

Blogs and websites are two different things, every time you make a post on a blog it goes to the top of the home page and the home page will show the last 10 posts.

However wordpress can be used as a website, you just need to set the home page to static and then it's basically like a normal website.

Typing your website and setting up the navigation is fairly simple with wordpress. However in my opinion it's a lot more difficult to customize your site with wordpress than what it is with XSitePro which is what I use to make my websites.
