Article Marketing For Traffic
Article marketing is one of the best ways to get traffic to your website. All you need to do is write relevant
articles and then at the end of them post a link to your website. Then when people read the articles they will find
your link at the end and if they click you've got a free visitor to your site.
Not only that, having other websites link to your website is one of the most important factors when it comes to
ranking your website on Google.
If you can get other sites to link to yours your search engine rankings will increase. Article writing is a
perfectly legitamate way of not only increasing your links and therefore rankings but also getting visitors
from the articles.
The place where I recommend writing your articles for traffic is ezine articles which is widely regarded as the best article directory. Their's always
fluctuation but ezinearticles is amongst the top 200 most visited websites in the world, that's how big they
are.
I should pre warn you, the standards are high and they expect quality articles, I say this not to scare you but
to warn you.
The first step of writing your article is to figure out what you would like it to rank for in the search
engines. Think of of words and phrases that people are actually going to search for related to your article.
You can go to the Google
Adwords Keyword Tool and then enter some kywords and then Google will give you plenty of related search terms
and an aproximate figure of how many times a month those phrases are searched for.
Once you've figured out what search phrase you want your article to rank for make sure to include it in the
title of your article.
While including your key phrase in the title make sure it makes sense and that it's appropriate to the article.
It doesn't matter if your key phrase is part of a longer title.
Of course if your key phrase makes perfect sense by itself then this is fine, you just need to make sure it's a
good title or your article will be declined.
Then write your article, between 300 and 450 words is fine and make sure it's of a high quality, no
spelling/grammer errors. Then you will be asked for a resource box and this is where you put a link to your
website.
Just two simple sentences with one or two links to your site is fine although avoid putting a mini sales pitch
at the bottom because that will result in your article being declined.
While it's not essential it's better if you use proper anchor text rather than a full url. Read my page on
how to write anchor text if you don't know what anchor text is.
Also read ezine article tips to make
sure your article stands the best chance of being approved. Once your article has been approved do a Google search
to see where your article ranks.
If it's on the first page fantastic, if not then see where it does rank. If it's amongst the first few pages
then there's no reason why some simple SEO work can't bump it up.
If you targeted some fairly low competition keywords there's no reason why an ezine articles page won't rank
well.
